The 9 best tools to manage Facebook and Instagram comments together in 2026
Updated October 16, 2026 · Published October 9, 2026 · 9 min read
If Facebook and Instagram are your only two channels, start with Meta Business Suite, Meta's own free app. If comments also come in on TikTok, YouTube or Threads, BetterSocials puts them all in one inbox with AI drafts in your own voice, for $29 a month ($24 a month billed yearly). For the other seven tools, compare what each one charges per person and which channels its inbox reads.
The problem with two inboxes
Your Meta comments live in one app and your Instagram comments in another. You check one, then the other, and something slips. The person who asked about prices under your Reel on Monday gets an answer on Thursday, after they bought from someone else.
The nine tools below fix this in different ways. Each entry gives the price with its billing period, the month we read it on the vendor's own page, and where the tool stops.
How we picked these tools
We asked every tool the same three questions. Does it put Facebook and Instagram comments in one place, or in two screens? What does it cost, and is that price per month, per year or per person? Does it handle DMs too, or comments only?
We also noted which inboxes reach past Meta into TikTok, YouTube, Threads or LinkedIn company pages. Someone who comments on your Reel today may comment on your YouTube Short next week. A tool that only watches Facebook and Instagram never sees that second comment.
Meta Business Suite: best for free native comments
Meta Business Suite is Meta's own app for Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts, and it costs nothing. If those are your only two channels and one person answers everything, start here before you pay for anything.
Read Meta's help pages for its current automation rules before you build on them. It is built for Meta's platforms, so the day a customer comments on your TikTok or your YouTube Short, that comment sits in another app and you are back to switching screens.
BetterSocials: best for one inbox across six platforms
BetterSocials puts comments from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn company pages in one inbox. DMs come in from Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. TikTok DMs are reply-only: no tool can start one, and you get up to 10 replies within 48 hours of the person's last message. YouTube has no DM API for any tool, so on YouTube you get comments and public replies.
AI drafts your replies to comments and DMs in your own voice. It learns from your past replies and from rules you write in plain words, such as "never quote prices, send people to the booking link". Drafts wait for your approval unless you set a rule that lets a kind of reply send on its own.
Comment-to-DM works on Instagram and Facebook with no flow builder. Someone comments your keyword, they get your link in a DM, and the public reply you wrote posts under their comment. On TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn company pages, the keyword reply is public and carries the link.
The price is flat, and nothing is billed per contact. Creator is $29 a month ($24 a month billed yearly) for 4 social accounts and one seat. Pro is $49 a month ($39 a month billed yearly) for 5 accounts and one seat. Team is $99 a month ($79 a month billed yearly) for 10 accounts and unlimited team members. Each plan comes with a monthly pool of AI credits, and the AI pauses when they run out instead of charging you more. Every plan starts with a 7-day trial, card required, on bettersocials.ai/pricing.
Sprout Social: best for large teams
Sprout Social prices its inbox by the seat, from $199 per seat a month (sproutsocial.com, read July 2026). That works when several people answer comments and there is budget for each of them. Its inbox reads TikTok comments.
Do the math for your own team before you commit. Three people on Sprout Social is $597 a month at that rate. BetterSocials Team is $99 a month with unlimited team members.
Hootsuite: best for agencies running many brands
Hootsuite starts at $99 per user a month (hootsuite.com, read July 2026). It fits an agency that already schedules its clients' posts there and wants the replies in the same place.
Its inbox reads TikTok comments but leaves out YouTube comments. If your clients get questions under their YouTube videos, you need a second tool for those.
Agorapulse: best for teams that share one inbox
Agorapulse is $79 per user a month on annual billing (agorapulse.com, read July 2026). Like Hootsuite and Sprout Social, it is a scheduler with an inbox, priced by the person, so the bill grows with every teammate you add.
It has no email channel. That matters only if you hoped to answer email in the same place, and BetterSocials has no email inbox either.
Later: best for planners who also want an inbox
Later's inbox is called Conversations, and it starts on the Growth plan: $37.50 a month billed annually, or $50 month-to-month (later.com, read August 2026). The Starter plan, at $18.75 a month billed annually or $25 month-to-month, does not include it.
Conversations covers Instagram DMs and comments, Facebook DMs and comments, and TikTok comments. It has no YouTube or LinkedIn conversations. If you already plan your posts in Later and your comments come from Meta and TikTok, Growth may be all you need.
ManyChat: best for DM flows beyond Meta
ManyChat runs DM automation on Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email (channels read September 2026). There is no YouTube channel anywhere in it. On TikTok its triggers are a message, a link click or a QR scan; a comment trigger exists only in a limited rollout in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.
ManyChat replies to comments publicly and sends the DM. Its AI Comments feature posts automatic public replies on Instagram, to positive comments only, in a tone trained on your past replies.
The price follows your active contacts. Pro is $29 a month billed annually or $39 month-to-month for 2,500 active contacts, with Manychat AI included (manychat.com, pricing read July 2026). Each contact over the limit is billed monthly, even on an annual plan: $0.05 each on Pro month-to-month, $0.038 on annual. The free plan now holds 25 active contacts.
Pick it for multi-step flows on WhatsApp or Telegram. If your comments come from YouTube too, or you want a bill that stays the same as your audience grows, look elsewhere.
Buffer: best for comments only, no DMs
Buffer's Community inbox handles comments only, on every plan, and it reads YouTube comments (read August 2026). If your team answers comments and never touches DMs, that is a simple setup.
If Instagram or Facebook DMs matter to your business, Buffer's inbox will not show them. You would run a second tool for that half of the conversation.
Vista Social: best for DM automations with a free trial
Vista Social has a social inbox plus DM automations from its Professional plan, at $79 a month billed monthly, or $758 a year (vistasocial.com, read August 2026). Its inbox reads TikTok comments too.
The trial is 14 days with no card. If you want to test DM automation on your own accounts for two weeks before any money moves, try this one.
How these tools compare on price and coverage

| Agorapulse | teams that share one inbox | $79 per user a month, billed annually | priced per person |
| Later | planners who also want an inbox | Growth $37.50 a month billed annually, or $50 month-to-month | Conversations cover Instagram, Facebook and TikTok comments |

The biggest difference in this table is how you pay. Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Agorapulse charge for every teammate, which suits a team with a budget per seat. If you answer comments yourself, or with a small team, and your customers also comment on TikTok, YouTube or Threads, BetterSocials keeps them in one inbox on a flat bill from $29 a month.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best tool to manage Facebook and Instagram comments together?+
For Facebook and Instagram alone, start with Meta Business Suite, which is free. For a team that wants software priced per seat, Sprout Social starts at $199 per seat a month and Hootsuite at $99 per user a month. If TikTok, YouTube or Threads comments belong in the same inbox, BetterSocials starts at $29 a month ($24 a month billed yearly).
Is Meta Business Suite good enough to manage Facebook and Instagram comments?+
Yes, if those are your only two channels. It is Meta's own free app. Check Meta's help pages for its current automation rules before you rely on them, and move to a paid tool once comments from other platforms start to slip through.
What can Meta Business Suite's comment automation not do?+
It cannot bring in comments from outside Meta, because it is Meta's app for Meta's platforms. TikTok and YouTube comments stay in their own apps. For its keyword limits and reply options, Meta's help pages are the place to check.
Does Sprout Social or Agorapulse handle Facebook and Instagram comments better?+
Both are schedulers with an inbox, priced by the person. Sprout Social starts at $199 per seat a month, and its inbox reads TikTok comments. Agorapulse is $79 per user a month on annual billing. For a small business, the price per person usually decides it before any feature does.
Which tool also answers YouTube comments alongside Facebook and Instagram?+
Buffer's Community inbox reads YouTube comments, with no DMs. Metricool reads YouTube comments too, even on its free tier (read August 2026). BetterSocials answers YouTube comments with public replies in the same inbox as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Threads; YouTube has no DMs on any tool.
Is ManyChat a good fit for Facebook and Instagram comments?+
It can be. ManyChat replies to comments publicly and sends the DM, and its AI Comments feature auto-replies to positive Instagram comments only. It has no YouTube channel, and its price grows with your active contacts, so it suits DM flows more than a single inbox for every comment.
How much does it cost to manage comments across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube in one inbox?+
BetterSocials covers all three, plus TikTok, Threads and LinkedIn company pages, from $29 a month or $24 a month billed yearly, with a 7-day trial and a card required. Hootsuite, from $99 per user a month, leaves YouTube comments out of its inbox, and Later's Conversations do not include YouTube.
