We sorted this piece by cost at a small account's volume, because that's where the bills split. How we picked these eight

Every plan has unlimited contacts, unlimited DMs and unlimited keyword automations, and nothing is billed per contact. AI credits meter only the AI writing. Creator includes 1,000 a month, each AI reply or draft uses one, and when they run out the AI pauses instead of charging more.

Set DMs to Reply in my voice and a DM gets an answer about a minute after it arrives. The reply is written from your past replies and the AI rules you write, such as your prices, hours and booking link. When your rules don't cover what someone asked, the DM waits for you in Needs reply.

Draft for me writes each reply and holds it until you approve. That speed matters because Instagram only lets a business reply to a DM within 24 hours of the person's last message. After that, the conversation is closed until they write again.

ManyChat is best for multi-step flows and WhatsApp funnels. It runs on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and email, and its flow builder handles sequences with conditions and follow-ups.

ManyChat bills by active contacts, the people its automations deal with in a month. As of September 2026, the free plan holds 25 active contacts, down from 1,000 before March 2026. Essential is $17 a month, or $14 billed yearly, for 250 contacts, and Pro is $39 a month, or $29 billed yearly, for 2,500 contacts with AI included.

Extra contacts are charged monthly, even on annual plans, at $0.10 each on Essential and $0.05 on Pro with monthly billing. So a Pro account ($39 a month, 2,500 active contacts included) that reaches 4,000 people in a month pays $39 plus $0.05 for each contact past 2,500, or $114 in all. BetterSocials Creator stays at $29 a month for four accounts in that same month.

ManyChat has no YouTube channel. Its pricing page lists every tier, and its free plan article covers the free tier. Pick ManyChat if your funnel runs on WhatsApp or needs several steps.

Meta Business Suite: best for one fixed keyword message at $0

Meta Business Suite is best when every keyword commenter gets the same message, and it costs nothing. Meta's help page says it "is free to use on desktop and in the Meta Business Suite mobile app." Its inbox holds messages and comments from your Facebook Page, Messenger, Instagram account and WhatsApp Business account.

Meta Business Suite's keyword automations send templates you write, or Meta Business Agent, and you set them up on desktop. A message waits 15 minutes before sending unless you reply first, and each keyword automation takes up to 5 case-sensitive keywords.

If Instagram and Facebook are your only platforms and the DM is the same link every time, Meta Business Suite is the price to beat. BetterSocials costs $29 a month for four accounts and adds replies written in your voice.

InstantDM: best for running automations on several Instagram accounts

InstantDM is best for running automations on several Instagram accounts. As of October 2026, its Multi Starter plan covers up to three accounts and 30,000 automated DMs per account a month. Multi Pro covers up to ten accounts and 300,000.

InstantDM handles comment-to-DM, story reply and DM keyword automation, plus Facebook Page and Messenger automation. It also has a visual flow editor with templates and an AI builder. Pick it if you run several Instagram accounts and want a flow editor for each one.

CreatorFlow: best for creators who want an Instagram-first DM tool

CreatorFlow is best for creators who want a comment-to-DM tool built around Instagram. It connects through Meta's approved API, and CreatorFlow says it has been a Meta Tech Provider since January 2026.

Like every tool here on that API, CreatorFlow never sees your password, and you can revoke its access from your settings. Pick it if Instagram is your one platform and comment-to-DM is the whole job.

Later is best for Instagram-first scheduling with an inbox on top. Its Conversations inbox starts on the Growth plan at $37.50 a month billed yearly, as of October 2026, and it has no YouTube or LinkedIn conversations.

Pick Later if scheduling Instagram posts is the main job and DMs come second. BetterSocials Creator also posts and schedules, at $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts.

Vista Social is best for two people sharing one inbox. Professional is $99 a month, or $80 billed yearly, with two users, as of October 2026.

BetterSocials Creator and Pro are one login each, so a second person on BetterSocials means Team. Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for 12 accounts and unlimited teammates. Both land at $99 a month on monthly billing.
