An add-on fee is anything charged on top of the plan price: per contact, per extra seat or per AI feature.

How we picked and priced these tools

Every tool here, from Meta Business Suite to ManyChat, had to pass one test. A keyword comment on Instagram or Facebook has to send a DM with a link, and you have to know the monthly bill before the month starts.

We took each price from the vendor's own pricing page or help center, with the month it was seen. Where a vendor lists both monthly and yearly billing, we give both. Where a plan counts accounts, we compare tools at matching account counts.

BetterSocials: best for comments and DMs across platforms at one flat price

BetterSocials sits in the under $50 band for most small teams. Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four social accounts and one login. Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts. Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates.

Every BetterSocials plan includes unlimited contacts, unlimited DMs and unlimited keyword automations, and nothing is billed per contact. AI replies run on credits: 1,000 a month on Creator, 2,000 on Pro and 4,000 shared on Team. When the credits run out, the AI pauses. It never charges more on its own.

The setup is a keyword and the link it sends, with no flow builder. On Instagram and Facebook, the keyword sends a DM with your link. On TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages, it posts a public reply with the link, because no tool can turn a comment on TikTok or YouTube into a private DM.

Comments from all six platforms land in one inbox, along with DMs from Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, with AI replies drafted in the account owner's voice. Tracked links and a contacts list (in beta) show which comment or DM led to a click. That's the attribution half of the funnel. Every plan has a 7-day free trial with a card required.

CreatorFlow: best for the lowest flat price on Instagram

CreatorFlow is cheaper than BetterSocials for Instagram comment-to-DM at small account counts. As of October 2026, Free covers one Instagram account and 500 automated DMs a month. Pro is $15 a month, or $12 billed yearly, for two Instagram accounts and 5,000 DMs a month. Growth is $30 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for five accounts, 10,000 DMs and five team seats.

CreatorFlow's pricing is flat on contacts, and its plans cap automated DMs each month. At four or five accounts the prices meet: BetterSocials Creator is $29 a month for four accounts, and CreatorFlow Growth is $30 for five. What the BetterSocials price adds is the comments inbox across six platforms, AI replies in your voice and unlimited DMs.

InstantDM: best for Instagram funnels built in a flow editor

InstantDM runs comment-to-DM, story replies, keyword triggers, a follow gate and email capture, with no contact tiers. Its Flow Editor routes leads with conditions, delays and tags, then hands them to Mailchimp, Kit or Klaviyo, with webhooks and an API for the rest.

InstantDM's AI agent builder starts on its Trendsetter plan and runs on your own Claude, OpenAI or Gemini key, with no per-conversation metering. That means your AI usage is billed by your model provider, so put that line in the forecast. An open-in-app link generator is free on every InstantDM plan.

Meta Business Suite: best for basic keyword messages at $0

Meta Business Suite includes a free comment-to-message automation for Facebook and Instagram. It sends a message reply when a comment contains keywords you set. As of July 2026, the message is a fixed template you write, each automation holds up to 5 case-sensitive keywords, and a send can wait 15 minutes.

Setup in Meta Business Suite is desktop only. Coverage stops at Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and comments on your Facebook and Instagram posts. YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads and email aren't covered. If you run a handful of keyword campaigns on Instagram and the DM is the same link every time, the right spend on comment-to-DM software is $0.

Metricool: best for schedulers who want comment-to-DM flows included

Metricool lists its Flows at "No extra cost for a limited time" on every plan, as of October 2026. Flows turn comments into DMs, reply to DMs with keywords, turn story replies into DMs and reply to comments instantly, with flow analytics and an execution history.

Metricool's price starts at $20 a month, priced per brand, and its inbox reads YouTube comments on the free tier too. The wording on the Flows rows is the catch for a forecast. A feature priced at no extra cost for a limited time can become an add-on later, so check the pricing page before you build a launch on it.

Vista Social: best for small teams that want DM automations inside a scheduler

Vista Social puts a social inbox and DM automations on its Professional plan. As of October 2026, Professional is $99 a month, or $80 billed yearly, with two users. That puts Vista Social in the band just under a hundred dollars a month, and there's a 14-day trial without a card.

ManyChat: best for multi-step flows and WhatsApp, if you accept the meter

ManyChat earns its place when your funnel is more than one message. Its flow builder runs multi-step sequences with conditions and follow-ups across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and email. There is no YouTube channel anywhere in ManyChat.

ManyChat bills by active contact, meaning a person who interacts with you through ManyChat in the billing month. As of October 2026, Pro is $39 a month, or $29 billed yearly, with 2,500 active contacts. Overage on monthly billing is $0.10 per extra contact on Essential, $0.05 on Pro and $0.025 on Business, and it's counted monthly even on annual plans.

So a Pro account that reaches 4,000 people in a month pays $39 plus fifteen hundred extra contacts at $0.05, which comes to $114. A Business account at $99 a month with 7,500 contacts included that reaches 10,000 pays $99 + 2,500 x $0.025 = $161.50. Each extra inbox seat on Pro and up is $25.
