Does ManyChat work with TikTok comments in 2026?
October 31, 2026 · 8 min read
ManyChat connects to TikTok, but a TikTok comment can't send someone a private DM on ManyChat or on any other tool, outside a limited TikTok rollout in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. What works instead is a public reply under the comment that carries your link. BetterSocials is best for that keyword reply plus TikTok DM replies in one inbox, while Later and Pallyy are best for reading TikTok comments inside a scheduler you may already use.
The rules behind ManyChat and TikTok comments
ManyChat works on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and TikTok, and on TikTok it runs inside rules TikTok sets for every tool. This piece is our rules explainer: the limits, the windows and the counts that decide what any tool can do with a TikTok comment.
ManyChat's own help center starts its TikTok setup from a message, in the article Set up your first TikTok automation in Manychat: User sends a message. That trigger is a DM the viewer sends you first. It isn't a comment under your video.
So if you came to ManyChat for "comment LINK and I'll DM you" on TikTok, the gap you hit is TikTok's, and every tool on the official API meets the same one. On Instagram and Facebook, a keyword comment can still send a DM with your link, and ManyChat and BetterSocials both do that there.
The rest of this piece walks through each rule in turn. Comments come first, then DMs, then what the tools cost to run under those rules.
Can a TikTok comment trigger a DM on any tool?
TikTok never lets a tool start a DM. A business can only reply after the person writes first, and a comment doesn't count as writing first.
The one exception is a limited rollout TikTok has kept to Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. Outside those three countries, no tool turns a TikTok comment into a private DM, BetterSocials included.
What tools can do with a comment is set by TikTok's Accounts API, the official door third-party apps use. Its comment endpoints cover create, reply, like and unlike, hide and unhide, delete and list, per TikTok's API documentation for comments on owned videos. A reply is public by definition.
The same docs describe how fast a tool hears about a new comment. The comment webhook "enables you to get notifications within five minutes of a comment or reply being created, deleted, or the comment or reply visibility settings being modified."
Because a TikTok comment can't open a private DM, the link goes in the public reply instead. The reply sits under the comment, and everyone else reading the thread sees the link too.
Which tools reply to TikTok comments automatically?
BetterSocials, Later, Pallyy, Vista Social, Sprout Social and Hootsuite all bring TikTok comments into an inbox. They differ in the plan you need and in what happens after the comment lands.
Prices below are as of October 2026.
| Tool | Plan | Price a month | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| BetterSocials | Creator, 4 accounts | $29, or $24 billed yearly | Keyword replies with links, DM replies |
| Later | Growth | $50, or $37.50 billed yearly | Creators already scheduling on Later |
| Pallyy | Pro | $25, or $20 billed yearly | The lowest entry price here |
| Vista Social | Professional, 2 users | $99, or $80 billed yearly | Two-person teams sharing an inbox |
| Sprout Social | Standard | $199 per seat, billed yearly | Larger teams with per-seat budgets |
| Hootsuite | Standard | $99 per user, billed yearly | Teams that already run Hootsuite |
Pallyy is cheaper than BetterSocials by a few dollars a month on monthly billing. For that difference, BetterSocials Creator covers four accounts, posts a keyword reply with your link under TikTok comments, and drafts the rest of your replies in your voice.
Later's Conversations inbox, which includes TikTok comments, starts on Growth. Vista Social pairs its inbox with DM automations from Professional.
Sprout Social and Hootsuite price per person. That fits a team with a budget per seat, and it adds up fast for one owner who answers their own comments.
How a TikTok keyword reply works without a DM
BetterSocials runs a TikTok keyword as a public reply. A keyword here means a word you pick, such as "GUIDE", that a viewer types in a comment to ask for your link.
The steps in BetterSocials run like this:
- 1Connect your TikTok Business account on TikTok's own sign-in screen. It takes under a minute, and your password never touches BetterSocials.
- 2Set a keyword and write the reply that carries your link. There's no flow builder, and keywords are unlimited on every plan.
- 3Turn on AI replies for the comments the keyword doesn't cover.
When someone comments the keyword, the reply posts under their comment with the link. The same keyword on Instagram or Facebook also sends the person a DM, because those platforms allow it.
AI replies cover the rest of the thread. On the Reply in my voice setting, everyday comments such as compliments get an answer under the comment 1 to 5 minutes later. Questions wait in Needs reply for your approval unless you turn on Answer questions too, which needs at least one AI rule (your prices, hours or booking link) first.
What you can do with TikTok DMs
TikTok allows DM replies, and only replies. The person has to message you first, and the window rules are the same for every tool on the official API.
The limits as of October 2026:
- A tool can send at most 10 replies within 48 hours of the person's last message.
- Each reply is text up to 6,000 characters or one image, never both.
- The account must be a TikTok Business account.
- Apps can't answer DMs for accounts in the UK and Europe.
BetterSocials answers TikTok DMs inside those limits. On Reply in my voice, a DM gets an answer about a minute after it arrives, and the AI reads the conversation so far so it doesn't ask something the person already said.
When your AI rules don't cover what someone asked, such as a price or an order detail, the DM waits for you in Needs reply. After five AI replies in one conversation in a day, the rest wait for you too.
ManyChat or a flat-priced comment tool: what it costs
ManyChat Pro is $39 a month with 2,500 active contacts, as of October 2026. Each extra contact costs $0.05 on Pro, billed monthly, and $0.10 on Essential and $0.025 on Business.
So a Pro account that reaches 4,000 people in a month pays $39 plus $0.05 for every contact past 2,500, which comes to a little over a hundred dollars. A viral TikTok raises the contact count, and the bill follows it.
BetterSocials charges by account, with unlimited contacts on every plan:
- Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts and one login.
- Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts.
- Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates.
ManyChat is still the better pick in some cases. If your business runs on WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS broadcasts, or on multi-step sequences built in a flow builder, ManyChat does those and BetterSocials doesn't.
BetterSocials has no free plan. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, card required, and AI writing is metered in credits (1,000 a month on Creator) that pause the AI when they run out instead of adding charges.
Where BetterSocials fits under these rules
BetterSocials puts TikTok comments and TikTok DMs in the same inbox as Instagram, Facebook and YouTube comments. Under TikTok's rules, that means a public keyword reply with your link, AI replies to comments in your voice, and DM replies inside the 48-hour window.
It also posts and schedules to TikTok, so the video and the replies sit in one place. Every comment and DM gets a tag when it arrives, and one asking about price, booking or availability is tagged Lead and sends a push notification to your phone.
The trade-off is the one TikTok sets for everyone. Your link reaches a TikTok commenter in public, and a private conversation only starts when they message you.
Frequently asked questions
Does ManyChat officially support TikTok comment automation in 2026?+
ManyChat connects to TikTok, and its help center sets up TikTok automations from a message someone sends you. A TikTok comment can't open a private DM on ManyChat or any other tool, outside TikTok's limited rollout in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.
Can any tool send a DM when someone comments on my TikTok?+
Not outside TikTok's limited rollout in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. TikTok never lets a tool start a DM, so every tool on the official API answers a TikTok comment in public. The workaround is a keyword reply under the comment that carries your link.
What tools auto-reply to TikTok comments with a link?+
BetterSocials posts a public keyword reply with your link under any TikTok comment that uses your keyword, and AI drafts replies to the rest in your voice. Later, Pallyy, Vista Social, Sprout Social and Hootsuite bring TikTok comments into an inbox on the plans in the table above.
Can I automate replies to TikTok DMs?+
Yes, within TikTok's limits. A tool can only reply after the person writes first, with at most 10 replies within 48 hours of their last message. Each reply is text up to 6,000 characters or one image, the account must be a TikTok Business account, and apps can't answer DMs for UK and European accounts.
Is ManyChat or BetterSocials cheaper for TikTok?+
ManyChat Pro is $39 a month for 2,500 active contacts, then $0.05 for each extra contact, so 4,000 people in a month cost a little over a hundred dollars. BetterSocials Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts with unlimited contacts. BetterSocials has no free plan.
Do I need a TikTok Business account for comment automation?+
For DM replies, yes, because TikTok only lets apps answer DMs on a Business account. BetterSocials connects your TikTok account on TikTok's own sign-in screen in under a minute. Comments then arrive in the same inbox as your Instagram, Facebook and YouTube comments.
