One posting workflow for 5 platforms: the 2026 setup
November 2, 2026 · 8 min read
To post to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn from one place, connect all five accounts to one social media scheduler, write each post once, give every platform its own caption and format, and schedule the week from one calendar. BetterSocials is the pick when the comments and DMs that come back bring in customers, at $49 a month for six accounts on Pro. Buffer is the cheaper pick for posting alone, at $25 a month for five channels billed yearly, as of October 2026.
Why we wrote this as a setup guide
BetterSocials, Buffer and Blotato all publish to these five networks, so choosing a tool is the quick part. The slow part is the workflow around it: which accounts to connect, who writes the captions and where the replies land. Growth Ops Weekly readers own that workflow, so we took the how-to angle, with steps you can set up this week.
A social media scheduler, for this piece, is a tool that holds your connected accounts and publishes a post to each one at the time you set. Everything below assumes one person or a small team runs it.
Which tools publish to all five networks in 2026?
BetterSocials, Buffer, Blotato, Outstand and Upload-Post each list Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn among the networks they publish to. The table below comes from each vendor's own product pages and docs, read in October 2026.
| Tool | All five | Also posts to | Replies |
|---|---|---|---|
| BetterSocials | Yes | Threads | Comments and DMs in one inbox |
| Buffer | Yes | Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, X | Comments only |
| Blotato | Yes | Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, X | Instagram and Facebook comments, DMs |
| Outstand | Yes | Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, X | Replies on posts it published |
| Upload-Post | Yes | Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, X | Comment and DM tools |
Blotato, Outstand and Upload-Post are built for AI agents as much as for people. Each runs an MCP server, the connector that lets an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT call the tool directly. Outstand's reply tools work only on a post published through Outstand.
What five accounts cost on each tool
Buffer has the lowest per-account price we found for posting to five accounts: Essentials is $5 a channel a month billed yearly, so 5 x $5 = $25 a month. The prices below are each vendor's entry plan for the job, from pricing pages and docs read in October 2026.
| Tool | Plan | Price | Replies |
|---|---|---|---|
| BetterSocials | Pro, six accounts | $49 monthly, $39 billed yearly | Comments and DMs |
| Buffer | Essentials, five channels | $25 a month, billed yearly | Comments only |
| Blotato | Starter | $29 a month, billed monthly | Comments and DMs over MCP |
| Hootsuite | Standard, one user | $99 a user, billed yearly | Inbox without YouTube comments |
| Sprout Social | Standard, one seat | $199 a seat, billed yearly | Inbox included |
At matching yearly billing, BetterSocials Pro costs $14 a month more than Buffer Essentials, at $39 against $25. That difference buys a sixth account, Instagram and Facebook DMs in the same inbox as comments, keyword comment-to-DM and AI replies drafted in your voice. BetterSocials Creator, at $29 a month or $24 billed yearly, covers four accounts, which is one short of five.
Hootsuite and Sprout Social price by the person, so every operator you add raises the bill. One user on Hootsuite Standard is $99 a month, and a second user doubles it.
How do you set up one post for five platforms?
BetterSocials, Buffer and the other tools in the table follow the same five steps, and you can finish them this week.
Step 1: list the five accounts and their types
Write down the exact account for each platform before you connect anything. Three choices change what you get later:
- 1TikTok needs a Business account if you want to answer TikTok DMs from the tool.
- 2LinkedIn can be a Company Page or your personal profile. Both can post, but only a Company Page brings its comments into an inbox.
- 3YouTube posting covers both long videos and Shorts, so decide which format each post goes to.
Step 2: connect each account on the platform's own sign-in screen
In BetterSocials, you open Connected Accounts, pick a platform and sign in on that platform's own screen. Each connection takes under a minute, and your password never touches the tool. Connect the account that gets the most comments first.
Step 3: write the post once, then adjust it per platform
Write one master caption, then let each platform get its own version. TikTok and YouTube Shorts take the vertical video, and Instagram takes a Reel, a carousel or an image. BetterSocials drafts the per-platform captions in your voice and writes a Shorts title from the same text.
Add Instagram collaborators before you publish. Instagram only takes collaborators at publish, so a published post can never gain them.
Step 4: schedule the week from one calendar
Put the week's posts on the calendar in one sitting. On BetterSocials, posting is unlimited on every plan, so batching a month ahead costs nothing extra.
Step 5: decide where the replies go
Pick the person and the place that answers comments and DMs before the first post goes out. If a comment keyword should send a link, our guide to setting up "comment LINK and I'll DM you" on Instagram walks through it.
What each platform needs before you publish
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn each set their own limits on replies, and those limits shape your workflow more than the posting step does.
- Instagram only lets a business reply to a DM within 24 hours of the person's last message. After that, the conversation is closed until they write again.
- TikTok DMs are reply-only. You get 48 hours and at most 10 replies after the person's last message, and a reply is text or one image, never both.
- A TikTok comment can't trigger a private DM on any tool outside TikTok's limited rollout in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. A keyword there answers in the public reply.
- YouTube has no DM API for any tool, so YouTube is comments and public replies only.
- Facebook Pages bring comments and Messenger DMs, and a keyword comment can send a DM with your link.
- LinkedIn hides a personal profile's comments and messages from every app. A personal profile is posting and analytics only.
Who should pick which tool
Buffer is the pick if you mostly schedule posts and answer a few comments by hand. Five channels cost $25 a month billed yearly, and its comments-only inbox covers the rest.
- Pick BetterSocials if the comments and DMs on your posts bring in customers. Pro covers six accounts for $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, with DMs and AI replies in the same inbox.
- Pick Blotato or Outstand if an AI agent will do the posting. Outstand is $19 a month for 3,000 posts with MCP included, and Blotato Starter is $29 a month.
- Pick Hootsuite or Sprout Social if several people share the work. Budget $99 or $199 a person a month, billed yearly.
- Try Metricool if you want to start on a free tier. It reads YouTube comments even there.
- Pick Later if your replies happen on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Its Conversations inbox starts on Growth at $37.50 a month billed yearly, as of October 2026, and has no YouTube or LinkedIn conversations.
How BetterSocials handles the five platforms
BetterSocials publishes to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn and TikTok from one composer, now or on a schedule. Captions are drafted in your voice, and posting is unlimited on every plan.
The replies each post earns come back to one inbox. Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs sit beside comments from all six platforms, with LinkedIn comments coming from a Company Page, with AI replies drafted in your voice. Nothing goes out that you haven't approved or set a rule for.
Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts and one login. Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts. Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, card required. For operators who run work through AI, Claude can post, schedule and reply through BetterSocials's hosted MCP server.
Frequently asked questions
Can I post to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn for free?+
Not to all five on the free plans we priced. Buffer's free plan covers up to three channels, so five accounts need a paid plan. Buffer Essentials runs $25 a month billed yearly for five channels.
Does Buffer support Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn?+
Yes. Buffer publishes to all five, plus Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and others. Essentials is $5 a channel a month billed yearly, so five accounts cost $25 a month. Buffer's inbox covers comments on your posts, and Instagram and Facebook DMs stay in the phone apps.
Can a scheduler post to a LinkedIn personal profile?+
Yes. BetterSocials posts to a LinkedIn personal profile or a Company Page and shows analytics on those posts. LinkedIn hides a personal profile's comments and messages from every app, so inbox comments come from a Company Page only.
Can one tool post everywhere and answer the comments too?+
Yes. Agorapulse and Metricool pair scheduling with an inbox, and Buffer has a comments-only one. BetterSocials posts to six platforms and puts every comment and DM in one inbox with AI replies drafted in your voice. Pro covers six accounts for $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly.
Does TikTok work in a social media scheduler?+
Yes. BetterSocials publishes video posts to TikTok alongside the other platforms, and TikTok comments land in the same inbox. You can answer a TikTok DM for 48 hours after someone writes to you, and the account needs to be a TikTok Business account.
