SocialPilot vs BetterSocials vs Metricool: 2026 team costs

November 2, 2026 · 8 min read

SocialPilot Essentials costs $30 a month, or $25.50 billed yearly, as of October 2026, for one user, and its comment and message replies start a plan higher, on Standard. Pick SocialPilot if your team mostly schedules posts and wants three to six users on a mid-tier plan. Pick BetterSocials, an AI social media manager from $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four social accounts, if comments and DMs bring in your customers and you want them answered in your voice. Pick Metricool if you want the cheapest way into an inbox, because its inbox works on the free plan.

Why we priced SocialPilot, BetterSocials and Metricool as a three-way

SocialPilot and Metricool both pair a post scheduler with an inbox, so we priced them side by side and added BetterSocials as the third column. This piece takes the three-way angle: one table, the same questions asked of each tool, and the bill at a matching team size.

A unified inbox is one screen where the comments and DMs from every connected account land. All three tools have one. They differ on which plan it starts, who can log in, and what happens after a message arrives.

SocialPilot starts at $30 a month, or $25.50 billed yearly, for one user, and its Social Media Inbox starts on Standard. Metricool has a free plan with an inbox and a Starter plan from $20 a month for up to five brands, as of October 2026. BetterSocials posts to six platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, TikTok and LinkedIn) and includes comments, DMs, AI replies and keyword comment-to-DM on every plan, from Creator at $29 a month for four accounts.

Plan by plan: the price, the seats and the client logins

SocialPilot's prices come from SocialPilot's plans page and Metricool's from Metricool's pricing page, both as of October 2026.

The entry prices sit a dollar apart on monthly billing at BetterSocials and SocialPilot, and $1.50 apart billed yearly. BetterSocials Creator covers four social accounts and one login. SocialPilot Essentials covers one user, with no extra-user option on its plan card.

Seats are where the bills split. SocialPilot Standard includes three users and Premium six, and both add users at $5 a month each. BetterSocials Creator and Pro ($49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts) are one login each, so a second person means Team.

At three people, Metricool Advanced costs less than BetterSocials Team. Advanced is $67 a month, or $53 billed yearly, for up to 15 brands with unlimited team members. BetterSocials Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for 12 social accounts and unlimited teammates. What the extra money buys at BetterSocials is AI replies in your voice across comments and DMs, plus keyword comment-to-DM on Instagram and Facebook.

Flat team pricing against the per-seat schedulers

SocialPilot Ultimate is $200 a month, or $170 billed yearly, as of October 2026, and it's the first SocialPilot plan with unlimited users. Per-seat pricing means you pay again for every person who logs in. Flat team pricing means one price covers everyone.

BetterSocials Team includes unlimited teammates and 12 social accounts for $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly. That's well under SocialPilot Ultimate's $170 on yearly billing. Teammates are invited by email from Settings, then Team.

Two flat options cost less, and you should know them. Sendible Core is $35 a month, or $30 billed yearly, as of October 2026, with unlimited users on every plan. Metricool Advanced is $67 a month, or $53 billed yearly. Buffer Team is $12 a channel a month, or $10 billed yearly, as of October 2026, with unlimited team members, so 12 channels on Buffer run past a hundred dollars a month on yearly billing.

The per-seat tools climb fast at five people. These are their October 2026 list prices, billed yearly:

  • Agorapulse Standard at $79 a user comes to almost four hundred dollars a month.
  • Sprout Social Essentials at $79 a seat comes to almost four hundred dollars a month, and close to five hundred at its $99 monthly rate.
  • Hootsuite Standard at $99 a user comes to close to five hundred dollars a month.

BetterSocials Team stays at $79 a month billed yearly for the same five people. Our earlier breakdown of what a comment and DM inbox costs on each social media scheduler in 2026 runs the same math across more tools.

Where the SocialPilot inbox starts, and what BetterSocials reads on each platform

SocialPilot's Social Media Inbox, with Reply to Posts & Comments and Reply to Messages, starts on Standard. Essentials shows a dash for both on SocialPilot's plans page. If your team needs to answer comments inside SocialPilot, budget for Standard from day one.

BetterSocials puts the inbox on every plan, and what lands there depends on the platform:

  • Instagram and Facebook Pages bring comments and DMs, with public replies and comment-to-DM.
  • TikTok brings comments and DMs, and DMs are reply-only for 48 hours after the person writes, up to 10 replies.
  • YouTube brings comments on videos and Shorts, with public replies, because YouTube has no DM API for any tool.
  • Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages bring comments and public replies.

The inbox sorts threads into Needs reply and Replied, with tags, leads and archive. BetterSocials doesn't connect X, WhatsApp or email inboxes.

Speed matters on Instagram. A business can only reply to a DM within 24 hours of the person's last message, and after that most tools can't send it at all.

AI replies and keyword DMs in BetterSocials

BetterSocials writes replies in your voice from a profile built on your past replies, plus AI rules you write in plain sentences. An AI rule might say "never quote prices, send people to the booking link". Every draft and automatic reply follows those rules.

Comments and DMs each get three settings in Settings, then AI voice:

  1. 1Off, where you write every reply and AI assist drafts one when you click it.
  2. 2Draft for me, where every new comment or DM gets a draft and nothing posts until you approve it.
  3. 3Reply in my voice, where everyday comments get answered 1 to 5 minutes later and a DM gets an answer about a minute after it arrives.

Questions wait in Needs reply unless you turn on Answer questions too. That switch only turns on once you've written at least one AI rule. When your rules don't cover what someone asked, the AI doesn't guess, and the message waits for you.

Keyword comment-to-DM is separate. A word in an Instagram or Facebook comment sends the person a DM with your link, with no flow builder. On TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages, the keyword posts a public reply with the link instead.

Each AI reply uses one AI credit, and Creator includes 1,000 a month. When credits run out, the AI pauses instead of billing more. We compared AI reply suggestions in a social media scheduler and what they cost in 2026 if you want the wider field.

SocialPilot or Metricool for scheduling plus comment replies

Metricool is the cheaper start for a small business that wants scheduling and comment replies in one tool. Its inbox works on the free plan, which manages one brand, and Starter is from $20 a month for up to five brands, with LinkedIn added. Metricool also reads YouTube comments, including on the free tier.

SocialPilot puts its inbox on Standard, which includes three users. That suits a team where two or three people share the publishing calendar and the replies.

BetterSocials fits a third case. If you want the replies themselves handled, in your voice and with keyword comment-to-DM in the same inbox, Creator does that from $29 a month for four accounts.

When SocialPilot is the right line item

SocialPilot is the better buy for teams that mostly schedule posts. Standard includes three users and Premium six, and extra users cost $5 a month each, which beats paying a full seat per person.

SocialPilot also fits agencies. Premium and Ultimate include unlimited client seats, so each client gets its own login. BetterSocials Team adds teammates by email invite from Settings, then Team.

When BetterSocials is the right line item

BetterSocials is the better buy when comments and DMs bring in your customers, whether you run a salon, a gym, a restaurant or a creator business. Every plan includes the inbox, AI replies in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM on Instagram and Facebook, with unlimited contacts and nothing billed per contact.

Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts, and every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. BetterSocials' pricing page has the trial and the plan details.
