SocialPilot vs BetterSocials pricing: seats and inbox (2026)

November 3, 2026 · 8 min read

Pick SocialPilot if your team mostly schedules posts and needs three to six users, or gives agency clients their own seats. Pick BetterSocials if comments and DMs bring in your customers. Its Creator plan is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts, with the inbox and AI replies on every plan. Metricool is the cheaper start if a basic inbox on a free plan is enough.

Two price ladders built for different jobs

SocialPilot starts at $30 a month, or $25.50 a month billed yearly, as of October 2026, for one user. Its inbox for comment and message replies starts one plan up, on Standard. We put price first in this report because the plan you can afford decides which features you get.

BetterSocials starts with Creator at $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four social accounts and one login. Every BetterSocials plan includes the inbox for comments and DMs, AI replies in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM on Instagram and Facebook.

So the two entry prices sit within a dollar of each other. What differs is what that dollar buys. SocialPilot's ladder adds users as you climb, and BetterSocials' ladder adds social accounts and AI credits.

The plans side by side, priced as we saw them

SocialPilot and BetterSocials publish both a monthly and a yearly price for each plan below. The figures come from each vendor's pricing page as of October 2026.

PlanMonthlyYearlyUsersInbox replies
SocialPilot Essentials$30 a month$25.50 a monthOne userNo, starts on Standard
SocialPilot Ultimate$200 a month$170 a monthUnlimitedYes
BetterSocials Creator, 4 accounts$29 a month$24 a monthOne loginYes, with AI replies
BetterSocials Pro, 6 accounts$49 a month$39 a monthOne loginYes, with AI replies
BetterSocials Team, 12 accounts$99 a month$79 a monthUnlimitedYes, with AI replies

SocialPilot Standard includes three users and Premium includes six. Both let you add a user at $5 a month each. Essentials has no extra-user option on its card.

The worked sum for a team of seven shows the gap. On SocialPilot Premium, you pay the plan price plus 1 x $5 for the seventh user. On BetterSocials, seven people means Team, at $99 a month or $79 billed yearly, because Creator and Pro are one login each.

For one person, BetterSocials Creator is a dollar cheaper than SocialPilot Essentials month to month, and a little more than a dollar cheaper billed yearly. Creator also includes the reply inbox, which SocialPilot puts on Standard.

Unlimited users: SocialPilot Ultimate, BetterSocials Team and the flat-rate field

SocialPilot includes unlimited users on Ultimate and Enterprise. Ultimate is $200 a month, or $170 billed yearly. BetterSocials Team includes unlimited teammates and 12 social accounts for $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, with 4,000 shared AI credits a month.

Over a year on yearly billing, SocialPilot Ultimate comes to about two thousand dollars, and BetterSocials Team comes to under a thousand.

Other tools sell unlimited users too. These prices are from their pricing pages as of October 2026.

  • Sendible Core is $30 a month billed yearly, or $35 monthly, with unlimited users on every plan.
  • Buffer Team is $10 a channel a month billed yearly, or $12 monthly, with unlimited team members. Twelve channels on Buffer Team cost more than a hundred dollars a month, against $79 for 12 accounts on BetterSocials Team.
  • Metricool Advanced starts at $53 a month billed yearly, or $67 monthly, with unlimited team members.

The per-user tools cost more as a team grows. Hootsuite Standard is $99 per user a month billed yearly, as of October 2026. Sprout Social Essentials is $79 per seat a month billed yearly, or $99 monthly. Agorapulse Standard is $79 per user billed yearly, so four people pay over three hundred dollars a month. A wider list sits in our sister title's report, social media tools with unlimited users in 2026, sorted by what a whole team pays.

Where comment and DM replies begin on SocialPilot

SocialPilot's Social Media Inbox starts on the Standard plan. Its pricing page lists Reply to Posts & Comments and Reply to Messages from Standard up, and shows a dash for both on Essentials. You can check the rows yourself on SocialPilot's plans page.

BetterSocials puts the inbox on every plan, and what it reads depends on the platform:

  • Instagram and Facebook Pages bring comments and DMs into one inbox, including Instagram story replies and voice messages.
  • TikTok brings comments and DMs. TikTok DMs are reply-only, for 48 hours after someone writes, up to ten replies, on a Business account.
  • YouTube brings comments on videos and Shorts. YouTube has no DM API for any tool, so replies there are public.
  • Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages bring comments and public replies.

BetterSocials doesn't connect X, WhatsApp or email inboxes. If those matter to your team, weigh that before the price.

AI replies and keyword DMs in BetterSocials

BetterSocials writes replies in your voice, from a voice profile built from your past replies. Comments and DMs each get three settings: Off, Draft for me and Reply in my voice.

Draft for me writes a draft the moment a comment or DM arrives, and nothing posts until you approve it. Reply in my voice answers everyday comments a few minutes later, and a DM about a minute after it arrives. Questions wait in Needs reply unless you turn on Answer questions too.

That switch only turns on once you write at least one AI rule. An AI rule is a plain sentence you write, such as your prices, hours or booking link. When your rules don't cover a question, the AI doesn't guess, and the message waits for you.

Keyword comment-to-DM is separate. A keyword in an Instagram or Facebook comment sends that person a DM with your link, with no flow builder. On TikTok, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages, the keyword posts a public reply with the link instead.

Each AI reply uses one AI credit. Creator includes 1,000 a month, Pro 2,000 and Team 4,000 shared. When credits run out, the AI pauses instead of billing more. Agorapulse also lists AI reply suggestions in its inbox. BetterSocials adds keyword DMs and voice-trained replies in the same plan, from $29 a month for four accounts.

SocialPilot against Metricool for posting plus replies

SocialPilot and Metricool both pair scheduling with an inbox, at different entry points. Metricool's inbox works on its free plan, which manages one brand. Metricool Starter is listed from $20 a month for up to five brands, and adds a LinkedIn connection.

SocialPilot puts its inbox on Standard, which includes three users. If you're one person on a tight budget, Metricool is the cheaper start. You can read its tiers on Metricool's pricing page.

BetterSocials fits a small business that wants the replies handled, rather than only collected. It adds AI replies in your voice and keyword comment-to-DM on Instagram and Facebook, from $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts.

The case for SocialPilot

SocialPilot suits teams that mostly schedule posts. Standard gives you three users and Premium six, and each extra user costs $5 a month.

Agencies get the most from it. Premium and Ultimate include unlimited client seats, so each client can have a login. BetterSocials adds teammates only on Team, so an agency that wants a login per client is better served by SocialPilot Premium.

The case for BetterSocials

BetterSocials suits owners whose comments and DMs bring in customers. That includes med spas, salons, gyms, realtors, restaurants and venues, plus creators and small agencies.

You connect your accounts, write your prices and booking link as AI rules, then approve drafts or let everyday replies send. Instagram only lets a business reply to a DM within 24 hours of the person's last message, so a fast answer matters.

Every plan comes with a 7-day free trial, card required, and a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first paid charge. You can start your free trial from the BetterSocials pricing page, or see how it works on its AI social media manager page.
