Blotato bills $29, $97 or $499 a month on monthly billing, and API and MCP access isn't in its free trial (blotato.com, as of October 2026). The best Blotato alternative for local businesses, creators and small agencies whose comments and DMs bring in customers is BetterSocials, an AI social media manager that puts comments and DMs in one inbox with AI replies in your voice, from $29 a month for four accounts. For posting alone, Buffer is a social media scheduler at $5 a channel billed yearly.

Updated October 27, 2026. Every price below carries the month it was checked. BetterSocials is our product, so it goes first, and every other entry says where that tool is the better pick.

Why do people look for a Blotato alternative?

Blotato lists three plans: Starter at $29 a month, Creator at $97 and Agency at $499, all billed monthly (blotato.com/pricing, as of October 2026). Its page says yearly billing saves about 17%, but it lists no yearly prices. API and MCP access isn't included in the free trial, and generating an API key during the trial ends the trial and starts billing.

Blotato does a lot for that money. It publishes to nine platforms: X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky, Threads and YouTube. Its MCP server, the connector that lets an AI assistant run your account, has 32 tools and works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and Replit Agent.

Those tools schedule posts, reply on your published Instagram or Facebook posts, send DMs, run DM automations and read analytics. So stay with Blotato if you post to X, Pinterest or Bluesky, or if an AI agent already runs your posting. If an agent is the whole point, the 10 best social media MCP servers for Claude in 2026 compares the connectors.

Look elsewhere if another pricing model fits your account count better, or if you want comments and DMs answered from one inbox with drafts in your voice. The six tools below split along those two lines. For a head-to-head on the second job, read BetterSocials vs Blotato.

BetterSocials: comments and DMs answered in your voice

BetterSocials is best for local businesses, creators and small agencies whose comments and DMs bring in customers. We know how fast a keyword comment goes cold while you're filming or with a client. BetterSocials posts to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Threads and LinkedIn, the six platforms it supports.

Comments from all six land in one inbox, with LinkedIn's coming from Company Pages. Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs land there too. AI drafts each comment reply in your voice, from your past replies and the AI rules you write, such as your prices or booking link.

Questions wait in Needs reply for you, unless you turn on Answer questions too, which needs at least one AI rule. DMs have the same settings in their own section, so Instagram, Facebook and TikTok DMs get drafts or answers in your voice too.

A keyword comment on Instagram or Facebook sends the person a DM with your link, with no flow builder to set up. On TikTok and YouTube no tool can turn a comment into a private DM. There, and on Threads and LinkedIn Company Pages, the keyword posts a public reply with your link.

Other tools cover parts of this. Buffer and Metricool read YouTube comments, and Later reads TikTok comments. Buffer is cheaper for posting: four channels cost $20 a month on annual billing, against $24 a month billed yearly for BetterSocials Creator's four accounts.

The difference buys DMs in the inbox, AI replies and keyword comment-to-DM, with unlimited contacts. The plans differ by account count:

  • Creator is $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly, for four accounts and one login.
  • Pro is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, for six accounts.
  • Team is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, for twelve accounts and unlimited teammates.

Every plan has unlimited contacts, DMs and keyword automations, and nothing is billed per contact. Each one starts with a 7-day free trial, card required. Claude and ChatGPT connect through a hosted MCP server with your normal BetterSocials login.

Blotato's nine platforms include X, Pinterest and Bluesky, and BetterSocials posts to the six above. If those three matter, Blotato fits better. Switching takes three steps:

  1. 1Connect the account that gets the most comments; it takes under a minute.
  2. 2Write one keyword and the message it sends, so buyers get your link in their DMs.
  3. 3Approve a few drafts until the replies sound like you, then let the everyday ones send.

Answer the same day and the buyer gets your link while they still want it. Wait past 24 hours and Instagram closes the DM until they write again.

Buffer: posting priced per channel

Buffer is best for creators and small businesses who mostly schedule posts and answer a few comments by hand. Buffer charges $5 a channel a month on annual billing, as of August 2026, so you pay only for the accounts you post to. Five channels on Essentials run $25 a month and six run $30, both billed yearly.

Buffer's Community inbox covers comments on every plan, and it reads YouTube comments too. DMs aren't in it, so Instagram and Facebook messages stay in the phone app. Pick Buffer if posting is the job and DMs are rare.

Postiz: open-source posting with MCP built in

Postiz is best for developers and agencies who want open-source posting they can host themselves. Postiz is open source and self-hostable, with an MCP server built in, so an AI agent can post through it. Its GitHub repo, gitroomhq/postiz-app, had 37,288 stars on October 16, 2026.

Postiz plans run Standard at $29 a month, Team at $39, Pro at $49 and Ultimate at $99, billed monthly, as of September 2026. They cover 5 to 100 channels, and there's a 7-day trial.

Postiz has no inbox. Its post comments feature schedules your own first comment under your own post, so replies to other people's comments happen somewhere else. If you want an AI agent posting through software you run yourself, Postiz is the one to look at.

Metricool: an inbox from the free plan

Metricool is best for small businesses that want a social inbox on a free or low-cost plan. Metricool gives you a real inbox from its free plan, and that inbox reads YouTube comments. LinkedIn joins it on the Starter plan.

Metricool lists $20 a month, priced per brand, as of October 2026. It has no keyword automation and no email inbox. For a comment keyword that sends a DM with your link, you'd add a second tool.

Later: Instagram, Facebook and TikTok conversations

Later is best for brands that live on Instagram and TikTok and want comments and DMs on a mid-priced plan. Later's Conversations inbox holds Instagram DMs and comments, Facebook DMs and comments, and TikTok comments.

Conversations start on Growth, at $37.50 a month billed yearly or $50 month to month, as of September 2026. Starter costs $18.75 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly, and Conversations aren't on it. Later's inbox has no YouTube or LinkedIn conversations on any plan.

Later makes sense when your comments and DMs come from Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

ManyChat: multi-step DM flows, priced per contact

ManyChat is best for sellers who run multi-step DM funnels or need WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS. ManyChat's flow builder runs multi-step sequences with conditions and follow-ups across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and email.

Billing is per active contact, counted each month. Pro is $29 a month billed yearly, or $39 monthly, for 2,500 active contacts, as of September 2026. Each extra contact costs $0.05 on monthly Pro billing.

So a Pro account ($39 a month, 2,500 active contacts included) that reaches 4,000 people in a month pays $39 plus $0.05 for every contact past 2,500, which comes to $114. Essential is $14 a month billed yearly, or $17 monthly, for 250 contacts. There's a 14-day free trial on Essential and Pro.

ManyChat doesn't post for you, and there's no YouTube channel anywhere in it. If your funnel is more than one message, or it lives on WhatsApp, ManyChat earns its price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Blotato cost in 2026?+

Blotato lists Starter at $29 a month, Creator at $97 and Agency at $499, all billed monthly (blotato.com/pricing, as of October 2026). Its page says yearly billing saves about 17% but lists no yearly prices. API and MCP access isn't in the free trial, and making an API key ends the trial and starts billing.

Is there a Blotato alternative that doesn't charge per contact?+

Yes. BetterSocials includes unlimited contacts, DMs and keyword automations on every plan, from $29 a month for four accounts, or $24 billed yearly. Buffer prices per channel and Postiz per plan. ManyChat meters active contacts: Pro is $39 a month for 2,500, plus $0.05 for each extra contact on monthly billing.

Can I move my Blotato setup to another tool?+

Setting up BetterSocials takes about ten minutes: connect your accounts, write one keyword and the message it sends, then approve a few drafts until the replies sound like you. Connecting each account takes under a minute, and your password never touches BetterSocials.

What do I lose if I leave Blotato for BetterSocials?+

You lose posting to X, Pinterest and Bluesky. Blotato publishes to nine platforms, those three included, and BetterSocials posts to six: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Threads and LinkedIn. On TikTok and YouTube no tool turns a comment into a private DM, so a keyword there posts a public reply with your link.

Who should stay on Blotato?+

Stay if you post to X, Pinterest or Bluesky, or if an AI agent runs your posting. Blotato's MCP server has 32 tools and works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and Replit Agent. Move when the comments and DMs that come back are where your customers are.

Can I run BetterSocials from Claude or ChatGPT the way I run Blotato?+

Yes. BetterSocials has a hosted MCP server, and Claude and ChatGPT connect with your normal login, no API key. Claude can read the inbox, reply, post and schedule. In a normal ChatGPT chat only the read tools work, so it can draft but not send, and every send happens on your instruction.
